Process to be accepted into the Apprentice Program

  • Applications are accepted on Thursdays between the hours of 1 pm and 4 pm at the training center
  • Math test and interview follow
  • Once both requirements are met you will receive notification in the mail and then proceed with a drug test and orientation. Orientation will be on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Local #291 Union Hall, located at 14 Corporate Circle, Albany, New York.
  • Must bring 2 forms of payment with you to the union hall when signing up to become a member (initiation fee and credit union fee)
  • Initiation and dues can be paid by check, money-order, debit/credit. Cash will not be accepted. A separate check/money order for $5.00 is also required for the credit union

Initiation Fee schedule for Apprentices upon joining is as follows:dsc_0003

1st Year Apprentice – $60.00 initiation fee, $63.00 for three month dues = $123.00
2nd Year Apprentice – $120.00 initiation fee, $63.00 for three month dues = $183.00
3rd Year Apprentice – $180.00 initiation fee, $63.00 for three month dues = $243.00
4th Year Apprentice – $240.00 initiation fee, $63.00 for three month dues = $303.00

Membership dues are $21.00/month thereafter.

The apprenticeship program is a 5 year program consisting of 4 weeks in school training, and the rest will consist of on-site training.

Rates:

Apprentice rates ranging from $26.79 – $38.84.

Rates are subject to change based on the Counties you work in.
